Personal Alarms from Age UK Trading include a free wellbeing call service that helps spot signs that something might not be right.
If Taking Care identify a potential concern, for example if the frequency, timing and nature of the alarm calls change, they will make a proactive wellbeing call to the alarm user's nominated contacts to check everything is OK. If Taking Care cannot speak with a contact, they will call the alarm user to check they are OK.
It’s a reassuring service included with the subscription at no extra cost. It helps family members and loved ones proactively manage health and independence by making them aware of the change so they can decide if further support is needed.
A personal alarm provides peace of mind for you and your loved ones. It helps you to remain safe and independent in the home you love.

They will assess the situation and arrange the right support, whether that's contacting your nominated emergency contacts or the emergency services.
If you're unable to speak, the Emergency Resolution Team will still know who you are and where you are calling from. They will call your nominated emergency contacts, even if you can't respond.
If you have a personal alarm with fall detection, it can automatically connect you to the Emergency Resolution Team if a hard fall is detected, even if you're unable to press the button.

Please complete either form so that Taking Care has the information needed to respond quickly in an emergency, including:
Emergency contacts – so Taking Care knows whom to contact in an emergency, please provide the names, addresses and phone numbers of family, friends or neighbours. Taking Care will also ask if your contacts have keys to access your home in an emergency.
Medical details – so Taking Care can arrange the most appropriate help in an emergency, please provide details of any medical conditions.
Key safe – if you have a key safe, let Taking Care know the code and location so they can get help to you in an emergency.
If you prefer, you can provide this information by calling Taking Care's Customer Services on 0800 023 4301, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Taking Care aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible so you can start benefiting from your personal alarm without unnecessary delay.
Free next working day delivery available in England and Wales for orders received before 1pm, Monday – Friday. For other areas, 48-hour delivery available.
Most customers do not need to pay VAT on their orders. If you, or the person who you are purchasing the alarm service for, have a condition that requires regular medication such as arthritis, diabetes, or high blood pressure, or are registered disabled, you may be able to qualify for VAT exemption.
You can check the VAT exemption guide for advice.
Unlike personal alarms, key safes are not eligible for VAT exemption under the current UK government rules. If you order a key safe with your personal alarm, you will always pay VAT on this part of your order.
Don't worry – accidental button presses do happen. Simply let the Emergency Resolution Team know you're safe and they'll end the call. We'd always rather you press your alarm if you're unsure than not ask for help when you need it.
